Sure, to the local cowboys of Hill Valley in 1855, a Gigawatt wasn’t a common word. Likewise, 1955 Hill Valley was more concerned with the Under the Sea dance than measurements of energy transfer. And Hill Valley in 1985 again wasn’t particularly concerned with the gigawatt…except of course those people wanting to power time-traveling Deloreans.
Great Scott! Understanding exactly what a gigawatt is will be the least of Marty’s concerns if the Doc can’t figure out a way to infuse his time-traveling Delorean with 1.21 of them!
